We welcome you to our newest interview in our weekly series. Here we interview each week somebody from the community and learn a bit more about their lives. This week, from Dallas, United States:  🇺🇸

Meet Stefan Hässig, Director of Planning for an architectural firm in Dallas, as he lets us know about his Swiss roots, the thing he misses the most, and his upcoming vacation to reconnect with his homeland.

What is your name and where are you living now?

My name is Stefan Hässig, and I am currently residing in Dallas, TX, USA. I work as the Director of Planning for an architectural firm here.

What is your connection to Switzerland? Have you been born there, or do you have some roots in Switzerland?

I was born and raised in Buchs, SG, Switzerland. So, I have a deep-rooted connection to the country.

What is the thing that you miss about Switzerland the most?

The thing I miss the most about Switzerland is definitely the mountains.

What do you think is better or do you like more in your new country?

One aspect that I find quite enjoyable in the United States is the friendliness of people. It's refreshing to experience how everyone greets each other with a simple "hi" and engages in friendly conversations.

Do you have any plans of returning soon? For vacations or permanently.

Yes, I have plans to return to Switzerland next September for a vacation. It will be my first visit in quite a while, and I'm looking forward to seeing Switzerland again.
